Introduction and Application of Air Compressor Pipeline Filter

Oct 18, 2024

The air compressor filter, also known as the water filter, is mainly to filter out the impurities such as water and oil droplets and dust in the compressed air, to ensure the cleanliness of the compressed gas, and to improve the working efficiency and service life of the air source components.

Air Compressor Filter
  1. Why must the air compressor system be equipped with precision filters?

There are three main sources of solid particles: atmosphere, compressor moving parts wear and pipe. Oil is very important in the compressor, plays a sealing, lubrication and cooling role, coupled with the atmosphere also contains oil, so the compressor outlet air contains a considerable amount of oil. The content of water vapor in the air is very large, and it is directly related to temperature, and many products and equipment are sensitive to water in manufacturing and use. It is precisely because there are these three major pollutants in the compressed air, if they are not purified, the harm will be great, and the solution is to filter.

For the air precision filter, one of its main roles is to filter out all kinds of suspended solid particles, impurities, dust, water, oil, bacteria, etc. in the air, so that not only in life and work can create a good production environment for us to maintain our health, but also in industrial production is necessary to create a dust-free workshop equipment. Speed up product production speed and ensure product quality, for precision equipment, protect equipment instrumentation and precision equipment.

  1. Is the dryer installed in the air compressor system no longer required?

Of course not, the air compressor filter can not only filter liquid water but also filter oil, dust, solid particles and other impurities in the compressed air. Air compressor filter installation: It is recommended to install filters at the front and rear ends of the dryer, and install pre-filters at the front end of the dryer to filter the compressed air containing a lot of impurities and oil from the air compressor to ensure that the adsorbent of the dryer is not eroded by oil; A rear filter is installed at the rear end of the dryer to filter the dust generated from the compressed air during drying to ensure the quality of the Industrial screw air compressor.

  1. What are the filter precision levels?

The C-level main pipe passes through the filter, which is mostly used after the rear cooler of the air compressor or before the freeze dryer and other filters to protect the entire system, and can filter out a large amount of liquid and solid particles above 3μm, with a minimum residual oil content of only 5ppm.

T-class pipeline filter, installed before mechanical equipment and A class ultra-efficient oil removal filter, or after adsorption dryer to remove water and particles, can filter down to 1μm liquid and solid particles, the minimum residual oil content is only 0.5ppm.

Class A ultra-efficient oil removal filter, mostly used upstream of adsorption dryers or downstream of frozen dryers to ensure that the air used by the system is in a completely oil-free state, can filter down to 0.01μm liquid and solid particles, the minimum residual oil content is only 0.001ppm.

Industrial Screw Air Compressor
  1. Air compressor common problems

1. Air compressor has abnormal sound
A. There is A sound in the cylinder

  1. The foreign body or broken valve disc falls into the cylinder, take out the foreign body or broken valve disc;
  2. Excessive wear of the piston ring during work, impact in the ring groove, replace the piston ring;
  3. Connecting rod big head tile, small head bushing, piston cross hole wear too much, should be replaced;
  4. When the top of the piston meets the top of the cylinder head, the clearance should be adjusted;
  5. There is water in the cylinder.

B. There is a noise in the valve

  1. When the intake and exhaust valves are not tightened, tighten the fastening nut of the square cover of the valve chamber;
  2. Combine the valve with the bolt, loosen the nut, tighten the nut;
  3. Valve spring damage, timely replacement;
  4. The gap between the valve disc and the valve cover is too large, adjust the gap, and replace the valve disc if necessary.

C. There is a noise in the crankcase

  1. If the flywheel is not installed tightly or the key is too loose, it should be installed tightly;
  2. Connecting rod bolts are not fastened;
  3. Connecting rod tile wear is excessive, replace new tile;
  4. Main bearing damaged, replace bearing;
  5. The oil retaining ring on the crankshaft is loose and should be replaced.

2. Lubrication system failure

  1. Lubricating oil is too dirty, clean lubricating oil should be changed;
  2. If the oil level is too high or too low, adjust the oil level to the specified range;
  3. If the oil grade is wrong, the oil should be changed according to the instructions;
  4. The oil hammer is broken and should be replaced.

3. Abnormal levels of pressure (low or high)

  1. The intake and exhaust valve disc or spring should be replaced when damaged or leaked;
  2. The air filter is clogged seriously and should be cleaned;
  3. The intake and exhaust valve seat has dirt and leakage, and remove the dirt;
  4. Gas pipeline or cooler leakage should be repaired in time;
  5. The piston ring and cylinder are seriously worn and should be replaced.
